Voxit promises significant mobile savings

Vox Telecom is planning a mobile service called Voxit, allowing for mobile phone calls and messaging at a fraction of the current costs.
Speaking at the recent MyADSL Broadband conference at Vodaworld Vox Telecom CEO Douglas Reed said that the company has already launched their ADSL phone which proved so successful that the company is struggling to keep up with demand.
ADSL Phone
The Vox ADSL phone takes aim at Telkom’s traditional voice offerings by giving ADSL users an alternative voice service where they can both make and receive calls on a 087 number. Users not only save money through lower call rates to cellular phones, national and international calls, but also receive money for calls to their service.
Reed pointed out that the company’s interconnect with MTN is up and running and since this was the final telecoms operator to sign off, Vox Telecom now have interconnect agreements with all the major players in this space. The company’s international interconnects should be operational by 7 December which will allow subscribers to receive international calls.
Interconnect agreements with other value-added network providers – like MWEB, Internet Solutions and Verizon Business - are also progressing well.
Voxit
Vox Telecom is planning to do the same in the mobile space with a new service called Voxit which will allow users to make calls or send messages from their mobile phone ‘at a fraction of the current costs’.
This new service is part of Vox Telecom’s strategy to gain market share – especially in the mobile market where it does not currently have a real presence.
Reed however pointed out that Vox Telecom is discussing potential mobile partnerships with the cellular players and will definitely enter the mobile market in future. Source: mybroadband.co.za
